This policy explains how Irish Home Energy (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit irishhomeenergy.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts.

What data we collect

This is an information-only website. We do not use contact forms and do not ask you to create an account or submit personal details.

• If you email us — we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and use it only to reply to you.
• Technical data — like most websites, our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) processes limited technical information such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site.
• Calculators — entries are processed in your browser and are not saved or transmitted by our calculator code.
• Advertising and analytics — Google’s AdSense and consent-management scripts load on our content pages. Google receives technical data such as IP address and browser information to deliver its services and record privacy choices. Advertising availability depends on Google approval and account settings. Our optional site-configured analytics integration remains disabled.

How we use your data and our lawful basis

• To reply to you if you email us — on the basis of your consent and to take steps at your request.
• To run, secure and improve the website — on the basis of our legitimate interests.

Advertising choices

Use “Privacy & cookie settings” in the footer to revisit the Google consent message where available. Advertising-related storage and personalisation require consent where applicable; the message also explains processing based on legitimate interests and available objections. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out lawfully. The message may be unavailable if Google is blocked or has not made it available for your visit.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. The only third parties involved are the service providers that operate the site: Cloudflare (hosting and security), plus the email providers involved when you contact us. How long we keep it

We keep any emails you send only as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterward, then delete them. Technical logs are kept for short periods by our providers.

International transfers

Some providers (for example, Cloudflare) may process data outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. To exercise any right, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
